History

Herbert J McVie was a student at the Glasgow Provincial Training College 1922-1923. He had been a student at Edinburgh University and on the outbreak of war in 1914, he took up a commission in the 16th Royal Scots. After being severely wounded in action and discharged, he continued his studies at in the Faculty of Science at Glasgow University and on the completion he attended Glasgow Provincial Training College in September 1922. Herbert J McVie died in 1923 before he could take up his appointment at Motherwell R C School.
